Nibipedia for Math: Annotating, Connecting, Sharing your Videos

Math is a subject that is best taught by combining individual study with open discussion and individual question and answer. This allows students to combine visual, descriptive/analytic, and formal/relational. By approaching math study with:

An Integrated Approach teaches students best by showing not only "this is how it looks in real life" (visual), and combining it with an explanation of "this is why it logically fits together" (descriptive/analytical), and further illustrating "this is how it looks in real life," (descriptive analytical), students develop both their analytic and creative capacities -- and not only learn faster, but comprehend mathematical concepts more deeply.
Individual Question and Answer allows students to focus on the specific difficulties they have with mathematical concepts. Learning calculus, one student might need to master five different concepts to fully grasp how certain equations work. If he already "gets" four of them, and is only really struggling with the fifth, he'll be frustrated by a lecture that wastes 80 percent of his time.

Online, rich-media environments provide educators and students with a learning environment that allows them to fully realize the potential of collaborative video-based collaborative learning, which offers both an integrated approach and the ability for an individual to "drill down" deeply on specific areas of interest.
